What We Make

Happy Women’s Day!

In celebration of International Women's Day, Vistaprint has launched their global campaign to promote women-led businesses, creating a makers marketplace. I am happy to share that I have been invited to join this campaign. It is such an honor to be among the four Australian small businesses there. This is an admirable gesture from Vistaprint to care for small business owners and their dreams.

my inspiration

I am happy to talk about the spirit of women around the world. Every chance I get, I always thank my mom for being my real-life influencer. She was a pillar of strength and independence. I just admired her resilience. From being a housewife, she was widowed at 47, and faced to raise 7 children, all of which went to finish university. She never knew she had that street smart ways, that confidence to rise up. She was the town’s walking saleswoman — selling cosmetics, jewellery, undergarments, educational plans. It is admirable and up to now, (she is already 90 years old) she talks about her battles and triumphs as if they happened yesterday. I don’t mind listening to her repeat stories and replaying those scenes because she sure did find a way and didn’t give up. She has seen a lot already. I try to progress in life in a way that my children will also gain inspiration from. In my opinion, I have not done half of what my mother has achieved but we have different paths anyway. If we believe strongly, we can see where we are going.

Women rise up when tested and I think we have to lift each other up. Let's keep going, Mamas. Share the love more, and show what we make. Happy Monday!

❤❤❤
