For the Love of Handmade
This is the result of combining love for reading, writing and sending messages with design, color and patterns. A visual art that is functional and meaningful. I always wanted a product that is also a keepsake. Nowadays, it is hard to find something special that ticks all the boxes. Especially so if you are looking for a gift. I thought if I am going to gift someone special in my life, I’d rather give the following — love, time and effort. A gesture that can be found in artisan work. I am glad that creating pretty things is possible. These works started as an idea and now, it is blossoming to something more. My craft days were filled with creating paper collage, upcycling notebooks, and making tassels.
My work is a reflection of my life, experiences and heritage.
In previous years, I dreaded sewing. I learned the skill through my mother’s old Singer. I knew I was not that good. But during the pandemic, I rekindled my sewing skills and here I am now, making cloth masks, pouches and bags. I just can’t believe what a year of focus can do for someone with personal struggles. To be honest, I am glad with any result after the lockdown. Now, I am happy to nurture the potential of creating more.
Now, the joy of giving is forefront here. It is growing. The intention is to spread thoughtfulness and provide something special and precious that you won’t see often. I would like to create something meant for YOU, curate beautiful gift boxes of handmade goodness for your loved ones to enjoy. - to capture your HEART in a box.
