WTM Craftivity 3 : Card Holder

Day 3 CRAFTivity is something handy.

I searched for suede fabric at Spotlight and I found it at the upholstery section. What is good about leather is it's sturdy and the edges doesn't fray much. Perfect to use for this DIY card holder. Felt or canvas can also be good alternatives. This project just needs scissors and some stitching. Fits a gift card, business card or even a myki card. Can be personalised too. Sweet.

What you will need:

  • Main fabric (suede, leather, felt, or denim), cut in rectangle 20cm L x 10.5cm W

  • Second fabric size 10.5cm L x 2cm W

  • Sewing machine

  • Cotton thread

Method:

  1. Cut the two materials: first fabric into 20cm L x 10.5 cm W, and second fabric into 10.5cm L x 2cm W

  2. Fold the long side of Fabric1 to 7cm.

  3. Attach the Fabric2 1cm below the top fold. Use a fold clip to hold it down.

  4. Sew the left and right seams down the stretch of the 7cm fold.

  5. Taper the flap into shape with fabric scissors.
